Securing the R3 overnight

Ugh... sorry to hear about that hassle... Haven't seen a photo of your future girl, but if you have the engine bars it would be fairly simple and damage free.

I think he is getting the new R3R and there are no engine guard bars.

Who have you tried to insure with here?

That's what the insurance companies who insure Harleys here in Holland stipulate too; that the bike must be locked with a chain to a ground anchor whilst garaged.
None of my mates who own Harley have done so. Ithinks it's all BS.

Thank for all the opinions on insurers, the British etc, unfortunately in the few responses here, nobody has actually got any clue on how to secure their £20K or $25K investment overnight.

As it happens, I do understand that you shouldn't have to take these measures, but reality is a different thing as there are disrespectful morons out there for sure. It's alright saying "I'll leave the dog in the garage" or "I'll set my wife on them" ... when I got burgled some years ago, I had a dog, they just locked it in the bathroom whilst they emptied my house. I had screwed the window frames shut and they just removed the entire window frame to gain entry!

I have decided to cancel my order now anyway for 3 reasons, I may look again in the future.
1. Who knows what will happen in the coming 6 months with the world, it's unprecendented times and I may not be able to ride it for the next 6 - 12 momths
2. I don't want to enter a debt agreement currently, the world economy is collapsing around us.
3. I would not be able to secure my ride properly to satisfy the insurers and keep it saffe as there is no provision to do so.

I hope you stay safe, look after your loved ones and manage to keep the theives away!
