I talked to my dealer about getting a seat for A) Comfort, B) Lowering, and most desired C) Comfort AND Lowering (I have stubby legs!)

What aftermarket seats do you people have, where did you get them, and how would you rate them for any of the above listed criteria?

Does anyone here know if the 2013 and 2012 use the same seat?

I appreciate the help with this issue.

Right now all we have is the original.

Thanks.

God bless!!

As someone who is vertically challenged, I thought about going the seat route. A member of a Triumph forum said the problem was not the height, but the Rocket's width so making the seat thinner had no benefit for him. To make a reach for the ground easier, there are shorter shocks available that will reduce the height (not sure what to do about the kickstand though...).

Or perhaps shoes with thicker soles?

u wont have to do anything for the kickstand
i lowered stb r3t with a solo seat and i think it was 11.5 shocks

I bought Ikon rear shocks and it allowed me to lower the rear about 30mm. I also lowered the front about 15mm. Now I can easily flatfoot it on both sides. But I have a Roadster, not sure if it makes any difference.

Just a thought mate go for a ride in the country and where boots 2 sizes to big, then fill them full of cow sh#t, it help my vegies grow taller, fingers crossed you never know.

Go with the 11.5 inch shocks and a 140 front tire. I think you will like the drop in her and the quickness of steering do to the smaller front. Michelin Commander III I believe is what you should run in the front.

I just put some Hagon Nitros on the R3T along with the front springs. Lowered it about an inch. At 5-7 I am now sitting with my feet flat on the pavement. Handles really well too.

When you talk replacing shocks are you talking replacing both front and back or are you replacing just the rear?

This may sound stupid to ask but I weant to make sure I completely understand.

My thoughts would be to replace all four but maybe this is not necessary.

If replacing the front, are there different grades for the front also and if so what is most preferred by R3 owners?

I am looking at the Hagon Nitros at this point.

And it sounds as if the kickstand will not really be effected that much.

Thanks.

God bless!!
