Thanks Lonnie - that explains it nicely.

Steve - checked out Motobin website - with carriage & vat, the 30 litre ones work out at £270.25.

There is a company on e-bay doing them for £241.98, so they look favourite at the moment.

Sorry for drifting off topic but my rad shrouds are plastic and I have painted them black with a flexible plastic bumper paint. You can also buy black end pieces from Triumph for one arm and one leg.

The top inner pieces on mine are plastic, the side pieces steel...

With regarding the EasyBrackets slanting outward, you could 'cut and shut' them reasonably easy to get that 'perpendicular look' that looks better.Maybe once you cut out the weld with a cut off wheel, bend it further down, then re- weld it , that might be pretty close to what you are after.I dont think it would cost much to pay a fabricator much to modify the bracket that way if you dont want to do it yourself and it wouldnt compromise its strength as far as i can see.Tell me do these Easy Brackets rely on the bags resting on the shock springs like the Leatherlykes do?I am thinking they dont which would have to be better .Nowhere in the advertising for the L/lykes i bought did it say they rested on the shocks and I have to say i was pissed off to find that they do after purchasing panniers off 'em as well as their top box.Having said that , I have had my 'Lykes on the 'ol 'Hippo' for over a year now and I live on a really awful bumpy road and there is no sign of them suffering for it , so have to give them my full endorsement.Spring damage is minimal and no water of any significance gets in. 8)

Hippo - I have bags from 'Held' - German firm. They are soft bags, which I strengthened on the side nearest the bike with a piece of leather covered eighth inch aluminium sheet, cut to the same size as the pannier.

Using that, I didn't suffer from the normal sagging effect you get with soft bags.

Doesn't look as nice as the bags Lonnie has though, hence my interest.
