The easy brackets come with four holes for mounting already in place. When you remove part of the bracket to make room for the protrusion mentioned above, one of the mounting holes is located on the piece you remove. I then drilled another mounting hole in the bracket so I could still use four bolts instead of three to mount the bracket to the bag. Pictures tomorrow.
My radiator shrouds are definetly plastic, if not they would be powdercoated now as yours are. My bike is a 2006 standard, I added the classic rails and floorboards.
I was being a bit thick (a senior moment we call it over here), and was only thinking of the 2 holes that mount to the fender, not the 4 holes that mount to the pannier.
I have a 2005 standard, and the rad surrounds are definately metal.
Thanks Tom, ordered the Easybrackets from greatbikegear.com linked from easybrackets.com direct from the USA, the UK supplier does not stock them for the R3 so he was going to have to order them anyway and double the price as usual, in your opinion are they sturdy enough to support H/B hard cases?
This is interesting. I've not removed mine to closely examine them but the top pieces appear to be plastic and the sides metal...I'll take a closer look. Yours look good Owl. I definitely want to paint them black so my Rocket no longer looks like a radiator coming down the road followed by a bike..
