In as much as I don't have a Touring model to install speakers on, I can't comment on speakers but.....
You guys are talking about a Satellite Radio. I have a Garmin 2730 and it has built in XM with Traffic-Nav. I see you are talking about antenna mounting, the Garmin comes with the XM antenna and the Touratech mount that I use for the Garmin has not only the mount for the Garmin antenna built right into the mount, it also has a hard wired power supply for the 2730 built right in as well. The mount has a lockable cradle and a dock for the hardwired supply that docks the connector when the 2730 is out of the cradle. The Garmin 2730's XM is a wired unit, that is, I run with ear buds but the 2740 (one model up) is Bluetooth wireless.
So, I have the Garmin with the up to date maps plus the XM, plus the Traffic Nav and the speed warnings, traffic emergency warnings, full XM music and talk radio capability, audio book player and it's waterproof and vibration proof plus it's a touch screen and the screen is oversized.
Now, all you need is my radiator insert.........................
It's not the most clear picture in the world but you can see on my left handlebar the motorcycle sat radio kit that I found on TSS Radio (Professional Motorcycle Install Kit SIRPMK1). Comes with handlebar clamp, Sirius mount tray, antenna platform and power cabling. All for about $65. It was a snap to install.
I was not getting a good signal with the antenna on the little mount so I put a small velcro square on the fairing and stuck the antenna to it. Much better reception.
btw, the Kury Sound of Chrome speaks are drowned out above 65 mph. I'm seriously considering the motorcycletunes set discussed earlier.
Guys, I would highly reccomend the Rumble Roads Ultras! They sound great and have some great bass for such a small speaker. If you own a R3T and get the chrome, they look factory sitting up there. One pointer, wire them just like the directions with a single pole switch. I tried to use a circuit that came on with the key and the speakers drew too power causing them to cut in and out sometimes. After rewiring them direct I have had no more issues. I bought a cheap Archos 2 mp3 and only have 100 songs on there now but it holds approximately 2500. I can't believe I went this long, I will post some pictures in a few days..
