Rockets Across America III

Dave,

You are the man. Sounds good to me. A good ride, good food, and time to put a face with all of these cyber handles. Nice job of planning.

Dang.....Cyber Handles.

In as much as I don't even know where we are staying (Gunshots made the reservations), I'll just be tagging along with my leak'in forks and squeak'in brakes.:D

Ok. Glad someone was working on stuff for this ride. I figured it was like one of those conversation that we all have at home. What do you want to eat? I don't know what do you want to eat? I don't know where do you want to go? Oh I don't know where do you want to go?

When I went to the Eureka Springs site and requested information for stuff in the area I got an email from a lady there that said she hoped we already had rooms reserved because it was a big weekend for them. She didn't say what was going on. I told her yes we had placed reservations months ago at a couple of differant locations. I told her I thought we would have approx 30 bikes. That got her excited. She offered to list our "event" in the local happenings if I could get her some more information. But of course that would open us up to lots of other bikes showing up. Gonna tell her no thank you this is just a meet and greet. She also offered to notify the local police so we could have assistance with traffic. Wow! All all I was looking for was local restaurant information and perhaps for shopping if time allowed.

LOL.. I know Eureka Springs can't be much bigger than Mason or La Vernia.. :)
I'm ready to ride though! Anywhere other than "to work or school" is good with me!.. lol

I do know that there are a couple of Rocket riders that are not on the forum that are riding in from Dallas with a few friends with them on Harleys. I had mentioned it to a friend of mine and they decided to ride up too. They have allready made their reservations. 5 or 6 bikes total from there.

I think it is bigger than Mason. Just from looking at the restaurant/bar list on their site. And they appear to have lots of spas. I got emails from several. Delete delete delete delete delete. I will have to check in to one place I rec'd information from, though. It is a wildlife refuge that has primarily cats and bears. But must be small refuge. Says it only takes an hour to go through. But then again I can sit and watch tigers for hours......

Sounds like we are going to have lots of new friends before this over with.:D

Warning

Bear and his prior Lady camped in AR a couple of times on bike trips they took years ago. He has warned me several times that we need to pack good mosquito spray for this trip. He said one camp ground they stayed at refused to rent sites unless they bought cans of mosquito spray. He said the mosquitos covered the entrance screen to their tent so bad there was no air could get in. Just thought I might remind everyone to pack some spray just in case. Although a local person might be able to tell us better if there will be a problem this year with mosquitos. We aren't having too much a problem here due to lack of rain.

Keep Checking Back

I'm going to be making updates, from time to time, to the itinerary at (Post #349 on Page #35) so keep checking back to that post for any changes or updates.

1. Notice I've taken RSunshine's suggestion and made reservations at Forest Hill restaurant for Friday night @ 6:00 pm.

2. I should have the location we'll use to assemble for the Ozark National Forest ride in a day or so.

3. Looks like the antique and old car show that weekend will make things a bit more crowded on the streets.... but I don't see any major problem getting around.

Piano Man, I emailed them yesterday and they never got back with me as of this afternoon. I was asking about Motorcycle friendly and if they could handle our large group. I guess when you made reservations they had no problem? I never looked at the original place you listed today. I trusted you. Thank you for your efforts on pulling this all together. Don't want you to feel "taken for granite".

Maybe the assembly place for the ride to Ozark should be a breakfast or coffee place? I am not much into Breakfast, but love my coffee. But Bear will be growling if he misses breakfast. ha ha:D
