Speaking of older used bikes. There was something about putting the key in my older bikes and starting them up and taking off. The HD's, Yamaha's, Kawi's just turn the key and go. The 05 and 14 Rockets had to sweep and then off you go. The newer Rockets you grab the fob and turn it to green and place it in your pocket and make sure you don't get an 'out of range' notice, you then turn on the electrical from the off switch to on. Then you push up on the engine switch and it clears then you push down and wait a few seconds and start it. You then scroll around looking for the correct mode you want for the ride. Now you put on your readers to check your mileage, temp and time in tiny, tiny numbers. You take the readers off and accelerate down the road. This is fine but if you left the girls house running from the husband that came home early you're fu****. Next time take the Kawi.

As I’m new to the site and have been meandering around the site, I thought I’d add my two pennies worth about the British used bike market.
Up till a couple of years ago classic Brit stuff held their value pretty well, but just lately old Brit bikes prices have started to drop off.
This is really down the the age of those buying bikes.
All the old boys with the knowledge of looking after older stuff are passing on, leaving a void. The ones who are now buying are the 50+ year olds with disposable income, chasing their teenage dream bikes from the 70’s and 80’s. Suzuki GT750s are now making stupid prices, I’ve seen average ones making 10 grand! It’s happening right across the board.
With reference to first generation Rockets prices going up, as lot of you know that’s down to Triumph’s design of the new Rocket3, it’s not exactly passenger friendly is it. I for one find the back end of the bike strange, it looks unfinished! I took the wife to see the new model, and she took one look and said “I’m not getting on that!” Even the rear pillon foot pegs force the knees around their ears!
Good quality low mileage first generation Rockets prices will soar in the next few years!

Taste is subjective, the spike in old bikes soring due to collecability and being vintage you mentioned are bikes that are 30 years older than the 1st Gen, the rocket is not an iconic well known machine and the generations buying bikes are probably the only thing that is going to drive any prices up.
Here is a great video explaining but imo the 1st gens will stay around 5 grand max with respect to inflation for a long time.
I'm not crystal ball but I do know trends in motorcycles enough to know that the rocket is enough of a niche thing that it may never have any real collectable value other than to the enthusiastic buyer.

We also don’t have the youngsters going straight into bikes, as Governments over the years have made it harder and harder to get a Bike licence. The average age for a new rider in the U.K. nowadays is around 25, I’m 67 the average age when I started was 16.
First gen Rockets over here are fetching 20% higher prices, ours do fetch £5000, that’s around US$3900. But British bikes also have relatively lower mileage, probably an average of around less than 10,000 miles a year.

im not exactly sure what you mean in the first bit of that but 3900 bucks is about right for these, around the USA its about 4 grand on a good deal, 5 grand every day, 6 if someone get suckered into some tricked rocket. I just do not see these ever going up much in value especially in the UK as they are 2300CC and that will take AGES to get your license for that size bike.
The claim that they are going to go up in value or "soar" is a overestimation. Maybe im not understanding what was implied.. I assumed you meant that they will become like a collectable or something like a old vintage bike worth 3 times what it was 30 years ago. I have plenty of old vintage bikes and they all are about the same cost. in the 3 to 4 grand range.
They may go up a bit but 20% just means that the market is interested in buying them more vs them being worth more due to age. It's such a niche motorcycle that its very hard to know what will happen. Its truly amazing how the rest of the world is still in NORMALITY when it comes to finance but the USA is so DUMB with its dollar.

I was trying to put some context into the differences in our relative markets and the difference in the classic Japanese bikes.
For example Suzuki T500 I’ve seen them in your Salvage yards for 5 to 600 Dollars, a similar machine in the same condition over here……£2500!!!

A very good example of a US salvage yard, where whole bikes can be brought for peanuts, compared to the UK or Europe. This is a very tidy one.

We are "green" here in Europe, we will become peas soon. F*ck greens, they are going to ruin everything. There are no salvage yards in Munich and surround, nothing, zero. They think that it's better to destroy everything and make new things like that is not producing carbon dioxide at all. They should go to primary school again but in the mean time we might loose industry. I think that it is much better to use things for longer time, salvage things, make them working again... This is heaven on this picture.
