M/C tire. Most likely a Metzler. Another classic rear brake highside from the, imho, the safety hazard called Metzler.
Several things the rider did that he could have changed.
- Dragon Rule #1: STAY ON YOUR F*N SIDE OF THE ROAD!! (referencing the Dragon even though this rider was on the Hellbender 28 heading towards Fontana.)
- Dragon Rule #2: Move over and let the squids go by.
- His lean angle was instinctive but just the opposite of what it should be. I was told to put your chin over the grip to the inside of the turn. Makes a huge difference.
- Hard to tell but he seems to favor the rear brake somewhat. Not good technique.
It's easy to sit here and play Monday morning QB with this as I'm sure that most of us have had serious pucker moments just this side of what this guy experienced. Hate to see him go down but the rest of us can benefit from his misfortune.
