Rocket 3 R Standard Key not recognized post delivery

It's been two months since I got the bike but recently tried to check the standard key operating fine or not.
Neither one of the two factory supplied keys are recognized by the bike! They open seat cover top and fuel tank though.
Keyless FOB works pretty well. The rear mudguard left side swipe is not actionable!

Dealer from whom I bought says standard keys are not possibly coded at factory! He mentioned they had same issue on another bike.

Did anyone of you had this kind of issue? Interesting to see that Triumph is not coding them as they are built!

I still got 200+ miles before 600-mile service, planning to get it addressed at that point.

I misread your post. I checked my keys when I started having other problems with my Rocket and all good. Great idea to have others check their keys in case they haven't yet.

Try turning the key over when doing the mudguard start thing..if its up the wrong way it wont work.

I tried either way and upside down in the vicinity of left rear fender and under fender! Something is off.
They added Bluetooth connectivity module after sale prior to delivery. I have not checked the standard keys myself after delivery till last 2 weeks back!
This is really a rocket science project!

there is a couple of wee nipples under the left side you will feel there...put the key in between them...you may have already but....

Yep I did scan between tgose two lot of times.

I rode through a melted road repair, and got tar all over the guard. Tiny little blobs, all over the place.
I had to clean it off using methylated spirits. There were two stubborn little blobs, that just wouldn't come off no matter how hard I scrubbed.

Finally, I got 600 miles service done. Two standard keys working as well , they had to program them. Factory didn't do it for some reason. Works like charm now. All set.
