Roadster Hardbag Options

Has anyone come across a company making hardbags for the roadster yet ( besides screw me in the ass any chance they get CORBIN )?

The Leatherlyke contemporary bags look pretty good on a Roadster. Search the member gallery for Bryon540 for a look.

I've had the traditional Leatherlykes on my Std for 3 years and they work well.

I'm going to go with LeatherLykes for my Roadster. They are lockable, weather resistant, and quick detach with only small studs left behind. Price is not bad either.

Check out Easy brackets (Made in California) - QD brackets that lock on to the studs on the rear mudguard. I've just bought them for my '10 Roadster, so I can use my old Oxford throwover soft luggage bags till I find the right hard bags (maybe even use Peli Storm waterproof tool cases) .

The Easybrackets cost me £179 GBP, are made for any R3, and they fitted straight on in 10min-perfect. You can bolt any flat-backed hard case to them and set the position anywhere you want. i'll take some pics when I finish the job, but as I wanted the clean look when running without panniers, QD removal, and at least 24litres each side, I couldn't find anything else affordable.

As they hold the cases far enough out to clear the rear shocks, you have even more options how to fit hard cases too. I carry my wife pillion a lot, so I can position the cases to suit her legs.

This way I have everything I need for now , all for £179!

Indeed, och2pot! I have Easy Brackets as well, and they are as easy as 1... 2... 3 for mounting and dismounting any saddlebag. Over here we have Ghost Brackets, too, which are just about the same thing.

BTW, Gaolbird, Tsukayu makes a decent hard bag for the R3:

What is the load limit per bracket for Ghost Brackets and Easy Brackets assuming the bag is not the limiting factor? I like the idea of using pretty much any flat backed bags but weight limit of the bracket may be a limiting factor. I have sent a note to both companies asking for this info.

LeatherLykes told me 20 lbs per bag for their Cross Country system which holds 25 quarts (not sure if that is dry or liquid quarts).

Easy Brackets Weight Limit

Got a quick response from Easy Brackets. I specifically asked about the R3.

"The recommended weight limit per bag is 15 lbs."

Here is the response on the Ghost Brackets (now known as Edge Brackets).

"The "safe" load limit of the brackets would be about 25lbs, however we have had customers put more then that and they had no issues. "

Just to be clear, I have no connection to either company. I'm just reporting my research for anyone else who might have a common interest.

Thanks for the info. I am a dealer for Tsukayu and non of there bags will fit nice enough on the Roadster, their bags sit too high above the rear fender. They do make a great product as I have these bags on couple other bikes I have

Can't that be accommodated for by raising the mounting points (lowering the bags) for the Easy/ Edge brackets or would that compromise the structural integrity of the bags?

Will Tsukayu's trunk options for the R3 still work well on the Roadster? I would assume that they would since they use different mounting points.

non of there bags will fit nice enough on the Roadster, their bags sit too high above the rear fender.

Is that due to the stock exhaust angling up too high in the back? I've got a set on my America and I love them.
