Roadster Front Tire Wear

It's the recommendation in the Service Manual. I doubt it's correct, but some engineer somewhere decided that's what was needed.

Hole lot of talking but not much riding UBEr3 if your changing your tires out only once a year. My 2015 Rocket X is now a year old with its third back tire (car tire on now) I have run metzlers on a 05 Bonneville, 2010 Harley, and the rocket all of which resulted in cupping. The metzlers are just plain and simple a #rappy tire.

Hi guys. My 2016 R3r has 2000 miles on the metz & the front has started cupping. Im running 38-40 psi.
Cheers.

Wow, that is amazing!!!!! I just put over 1200miles on my Metzers in 4days last month, and have put well over 3000miles on them since I bought the bike in July and NO SIGN OF CUPPING what so ever.

I ride mostly twisty roads in Wales in the UK so its very little straight line wear. Possibly why its happened so quick.

I ride the tail of the dragon, the blue ridge pkwy, the cherohala and the like. Some of the twistiest roads in North America. In 30+ years of riding and road racing I've only ever known cupping to be the result of under inflation.

That said I could be totally wrong about the Metzlers this is the only pair I've ever ridden. They seem ok to me so farand I don't expect great mileage due to the weight of the bike and my ridin style, but so far no cupping.

I have a friend who is the most pedantic person I know checks his pressures every day on a ride and he owned a Kawasaki GTR 1000 and he put Metz 880 on and guess what they cupped he went the dealer who replaced and next one did the same so when I got the Rocket I was not surprised when they cupped the Metz's 880's are just a SH!t tyre
