Before I take the tools to my triumph roadster fog lamps, has anyone ever changed the bulbs? If so do you know what type they are?

Thanks

They are bog standard H3 bulbs - BUT the power wire (white) has had the spade connector removed and is soldered into the longer wires that run back under the tank. It makes what should be a 5minute job into a 30 minute one - or a nightmare if you don't have the tools.

Outstanding.....I figured you'd have the answer. I am thinking of pulling the bulbs and upgrading them.....if I can find a replacement. I upgraded my headlamps and now the fog lamps look pathetic.
Once again thanks for the response barbagris.

With access to decent machine tools and a bit of ingenuity - Conversion to LED is do-able. Mine are. To get the best benefit you do need to machine the insides though. A rough and ready conversion takes less time and is reversible - but the gains are less visible.

When you reassemble the fog lights make sure you seal the joints with grease and the screws with silicone sealant.

Mine had filled with water, but then it does rain a lot here in England

I really like the fog lams for the Rocket but the brakets cannot handle high speeds. They suffer from stress fractures ofter a short while. At regular road speeds they hold up well and give great visability.

Warpo,
So I shall remove them before going 150+ mph
NOT!
