I got these for Xmas and the instructions say to reroute lines and install an extension bar, but things are not where they say they should be in the install instructions. For instance, the brake line T connection on the front forks is on the left, not the right as the instructions say, and that goes to the abs I think, not the handlebars, so not sure why that even needs extended.

I'm thinking this is because of the ABS on the bike. Anyone else install these risers on a newer model roadster with abs? Do I really need to reroute as much as the instructions say?

Any tips or helpful pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Sam,
I don't have a "newer" Rocket,
but I did have the Rivco risers.
just reroute the cables from under the black plastic piece to outside it,
everything should work perfectly then.
Hope this helps.
Be sure to lay a towel on your tank BEFORE you loose your handlebars
or they may drop down and scratch your paint...
Yea, it happens..

I actually own Skip's old Rivco Risers now and while I don't have the answer to your brake line issue I found by just routeing the cables the shortest waythru the mess behind the headlights they still go thru the std way but are a touch tight so I ordered the Classic cables for the throttle and clutch, the classic cables are slightly longer due to the slight more pull back of the clasic handle bars but that little difference is all it took now my cables are spot on the brake line was never an issue :D

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll just ignore the instructions for the most part and make it work as best I can for my bike.

As for rerouting the brake lines if I need to, since they are ABS, I have read elsewhere that I would need to take the bike in to get them to bleed the lines of the air if I were to do that. Is that true?

I installed these on my 2013 R3R a month or so ago. I rerouted the brake line by disconnecting it at the reservoir on the bars, rerouting it, then bleeding the brakes. And no, I didn't take it into the dealer...I bled them myself using the bleeder on the caliper and a hand held vaccuum pump type speed bleeder. The clutch cable is plenty long enough, but the brake line and right side wiring is only just long enough
