RENEWING FORK OIL

take the fork caps off
then since your a pretty big feller just turn the bike upside down and drain it.
place upright and refill.
Let me know how it works as I am a scrawny feller :)
If it works well I can come down supply beer and you can drain mine along with the beer :)

i do have access to a vacuum p/p if i removed the fork caps i suppose i could get it out like that just worried about putting cap back on do you need special tool

if i made a connection out of old fork caps do you think this would work warp seems a helluva big job just change oil

Yes from the book it wants you to pull the forks. I was thinking about sending mine to tracxion dynamics to have cartridges installed in them. but have not gotten around to it yet.

If you remove the wheel you will find an allen screw under each fork leg. Remove it and the oil will drain out. an impact gun will help to re-install them. If you are really fussy you could replace the aluminum washers. HTH
The fork caps are not under spring pressure.

It's very simple to drop the forks out of the yokes/triple trees and, in the long run, will save you time as you will be able to empty them by tutning them upside down and draining. Also gives you chance to check the forks properly and give them a proper clean.

Didn't know there was a drain plug in the bottom of the forks? I just take mine out and invert to drain. Your way sounds MUCH better!
