Reducing Decel Popping?

And thanks all, for going through the motions with me, I've come around to the fact that the back firing is just part of the result of the exhaust design now...and that not a lot can be done about it....but hind sight is a wonderful thing

I guess I got carried away with all the tuneecu goodness and got messing with toys! The trouble is when you read so much of adding fuel to a map or turning off the O2 sensor or going PCV will fix decel popping etc you get to thinking a solution might actually be obtainable, maybe borderline cases are fixable where things are not quite right, I don't know, but this is far from borderline

Atleast the exhaust looks good and didn't cost me what it will when/if it retails...and I've learnt a lot going through the motions, so thanks again

I now have a much better idea on what the longer term mods are that I'd like to see on my bike, but for now I'll be keeping things simple and just concentrating on using the clutch and brakes on decel in and around my local urban area I'm such a engine braking fan though....it makes for lots of back firing haha

Hey Nat....When is was a puppy, i used to drive trucks doing "Town delivery" work and 3 mornings a week i started at 4.00am and another guy and i used to deliver sides of beef, whole pigs and mutton to about 6 or 8 butcher shops. It was pretty heavy going when your 18! A rear quarter of beef made a boy struggle i can tell you but it was good hard muscle building work and we had alot of fun!
The truck was an old petrol Thames Trader with a big box on the back.
One morning as we were getting to the end, around 7.00am, we were driving down the road and a young woman was out walking her dog. I was in the middle of the bench seat with my legs each side of the gear lever cos we had a meat inspector with us. As we came up on the girl, i turned the key off and the driver pumped away on the gas peddle, then, right behind her, i flicked the key on again!...WELL!....BOOOOOOMMM! it went and i swear the dog came off the ground...the girl would have pissed her knickers for sure!....We almost drove into the curb cos we were laughing so hard...even the meat inspector!....the muffler split along the seam underneath from one end to the other!!...i wasn't popular with the boss!
My point is....because it is a backfire thread...sometimes the odd "Pop' or "Bang"..can be fun!

i to had an old chev i would make it bang and also turn off the key a little early so when i turned it back on it blew the back of the muffler off.
i also had like a rebel yell and let it go while a young lady was walking her German Shepard
well the dog took off and drug her a little. i felt so bad for a long time and had to grow up.

I am getting VERY close to designing something along those lines to run the Power Commander C3 tuning software for logging. I think you can then play back the logs realtime. With my eyes I need bigger screens these days.
