Redesigned RamAir filter available for ordering

Don't believe Ramair did any tests. They just tried to build a filter for 2 Rocket 3 owners that asked them if they could do it. If you don't believe that letting an engine breath better will improve performance then figures aren't going to help.

On their website they originally stated they were having testing performed and would release the results when rec'd. They did not release them. Now they have removed that statement from their website. Yeah, I'm suspicious.

For those of you with the carpenter racing kit.....is this filter satisfactory with this system?
You can run it but they horse power will most likely be down a bit. The larger one they said they were going to work on might be better. I like the Piper cross I did but you have to cut some of the bear claw. I to carry a rain cover for the filter.

The 600 pound gorilla is still in the room! Will Ramair finally quit hiding the test results and show us proof, if they have it, that this filter increases performance?
On a previous thread Neville Lush had stated that the behind the claw ramair would attain 165 hp on a Roadster if equipped with Reband exhaust. Now I have never met Mr. Lush but from feed back from many of the Rocket captains on this forum I would say you could take that to the bank as proof positive. If you say the pipe alone is responsible then that's saying that high octane fuel alone will increase hp without adjusting timing.

I don't question Neville's honesty but his honesty is not the issue. Ramair said IT would publish the results. Ramair did not publish the results. Ramair obviously does not intend to publish the results because it has removed that assurance from its website. I guess Ramair could be too busy, or maybe its having its period and feeling cranky, or maybe ...

Neville tested the Ramair and said on here it's better than the small tripple filters that fit under the claw and on a 205 to 210hp engine the Ramair is 2 to 5hp less than the big exposed K/N tripple filters. It's all been posted on here several times.

Or maybe dobro is a nob? Haven't we been here before?

We've kind of been here before. I guess you're feeling better now and you want to try again.

IMO, here's the big deal about Ramair's filter: as long as it's being made no other mfg will enter the market with a high performance R3 filter because the market isn't big enough for more than one. That's why I want to know, and why I want everybody else to know, whether this filter is the real deal. If it's not, I want it to go out of production so another mfg will give it a go. If it is the real deal I want to buy one and support Ramair so it will stay in production. All I'm asking is that Ramair live up to its published assurance about revealing testing results. I don't think that's asking too much considering how cheap and simple it would be for Ramair to do. I think we should all be demanding that Ramair back up its marketing claims.

Kawasaki has just released a new race bike that they claim has 300 horsepower. If a cycle magazine is allowed to test one of these motorcycles and they backup that claim then I assume it's true even though it's not Kawasaki results. From my understanding ram air provided these filters to different individuals such as Mr lush and Bob carpenter. They both have tested it and Bob Carpenter claims that although too restrictive for his 240+ hp motors doesn't mean that it doesn't do its job on improving performance. Neville Lush has said that the filter flows very well. What difference does it make who tested it as long as the results are proven?
