Theres another thread on here called Ramair cracked I think. read it from start to finish and you'll see that they have been replacing them for those that go about it calmly. with a bit of luck you'll get the new improved model.
My ram air was stuffed about 20k's into the first ride, so I decided to go with some taller uni filter's, must say they work a treat and cost a whole lot less than K&N, easy to clean and oil, in the wet I use a black stocking overthem to help. Now they do still get some water in there but I made my bearclaw a little lager than stock to cover them up , best thing ever. Right now down to install problems, the uni filter has a very similar rubber on them to the ram air, but it's longer, so I made some cuts in the edge to accept the throttle linkage (they sit much lower and firmer now) also used some simple two sided tape on the throttle body to stick them down and hold them I have had no problems with miss install or dropping off at any stage since my tape was installed, just a suggestion but maybe do the same thing for the ramair to make them sit down better..
The redesigned ones are noticeably different compared to the old ones, I feel pretty good about putting mine on, the old one (after reading the cracked thread) not so much.
