What's the correct procedure for cleaning and re oiling the Ramair, mines due for its first re oil.
Probably the same as the Uni filters.

Mittzy, thank you, that pretty clear instructions. Jim
Main difference is that the ramair has the wire inside (Cant squeeze cleaning agent out - of excess oil for that matter) you might be able to buy spray on filter oil - but I don't even know if there is such a thing.

Motul did have a very good spray on air filter oil at one time, but I am not sure if they are still selling it. I might check the Ramair site to see what they have to say.

Straight from the Ramair site.

Ramair filters owe much of their dirt retaining properties to the unique advanced polymer treatment with which they are impregnated during manufacture. They can be given a new lease of life when they become heavily soiled by cleaning them thoroughly with Ramair polymer solvent cleaner and applying fresh Treatment to the foam filter material.

Please Note: Ramair Filters Treatment is more advanced than ordinary filter oil. Using any other product may reduce the effectiveness of your filter and may affect the warranty.

Ramair polymer solvent cleaner is:
  • NON TOXIC
  • NON-CORROSIVE
  • 100% ORGANIC
  • BIODEGRADABLE

Economy cleaning kit (CK-001) includes 1x 100ml cleaner, 1x 100ml Ramair advanced treatment in bottles with applicator, set of rubber gloves and instructions on cleaning and best re-application.

Yes, there is, I've been using UNI spray foam filter oil for years on my ATVs. Last time I tried a non-spray version, but trying to evenly massage the oil into the filter and removing the excess oil is not worth the hassle IMO, so I'm going back to the spray version.

Yeah, I paid the 15£ (well, minus 10%) for the cleaning kit when I ordered the filter. Probably worth doing what the manufacturer recommends for something like this.
