Hi JLoss:
I'll offer an opinion that appears to be quite different than that of many others.quote]

You must buy all your stuff at flea markets and garage sales........
I just enjoy the challenge of a negotiation. Doesn't always work though. When I tried to negotiate with Hannigan for my new sidecar, they told me that, despite the economy, they were still 3-months out on orders! I paid full price and established my position in the queue. Sure enough, it took three months before they built and shipped it to me. Just got it Friday.
But then there have been other times where I've done quite well. I had a used motorcycle that I had negotiated a very good deal on with a dealer, drove it for three years and then sold privately for more than I paid. Similarly, I had a brand new car that I purchased from a dealer on a well negotiated deal, drove it for almost a year, and sold it to a different dealer, used mind you, for just $250.00 less than what I originally paid.
It doesn't have to be about the money ... it can just be the joy of wheeling and dealing.
