rear sub frame question

I am looking to turn my rocket into a bobber and want to get rid of the rear fender entirely leaving just the single seat.
I will be wanting to cut off the rear sub frame just behind the rear shocks, has anyone done this?
Will it weaken the frame? it has a bar that runs between the rear shocks which seams to be where the strength comes from, i can't see that it would weaken the frame but welcome your thoughts.

Find attached a couple of pictures to show you what i mean
HUH ?

Not to mention going through any wet will result in a dark stripe up the back side.

The things we do for love. <sigh>

Good luck though, follow your dream.
Nothing worse than running shorty fenders on any road bike as the whole bike and rider end up covered in everything you ride over in your travels WHAT A F---kin mess

You're only supposed to agree with him. Now you probably gone and upset him all over again. Oh dear.

You could maybe do something like this to avoid that happening;)

FENDERS are still too short but add some more fender front and back to keep the road muck off you and the bike . Ive driven lots of custom bikes with shorty fenders and they are a real mess at the end of a days riding
