This is my home made rear fender. It works very well, so i'm pleased with it.
This mod also reduces the unsprung weight on the rear wheel.
The full length hugger style rear fender by TRIC UK also works well, although it is just fractionally narrower than the tyre, so water & dirt can get past at the edges if the conditions are bad. That said, no solution will stop all spray.

That's a good looking rear-end. Can I say that without being reported to HR?

@Jagster

English humor is definitely not what it used to be...unless it only works in one direction!

If you don't want people to gently make fun of you and your bike from time to time, stop posting...

That said, given where you live, I understand that the teasing about the time you have to endure annoys you. .
Come on, I wish you good walks...even if they are wet 🤣

Trust me, the weather is the least of the battles motorcyclists (and everyone else) in the UK is having to fight right now.

Ah !! Humour !!
I think I remember something about that. That's like a word from the history books......Yes. Very good ! :)
You ought to look up what two way humour is. To mock is not great humour...........It's only one way.
So don't expect many people to laugh at your kind of humour.
Your point about the weather in the UK is not what i'm referring to, but even then, it's common knowledge that talking about the weather a sign of someone who has nothing else interesting to say...... ;)

Mock
uk/mɒk/ us/mɑːk/
verb [ T ]

  1. to laugh at someone, often by copying them in a funny but unkind way
  2. to make something appear stupid or not effective
adjective [ before noun ]
not real but appearing or pretending to be exactly like something

.......Seeing as you are interested in the weather, well, I can help you with that.
Not exactly wet here at the moment. My rear fender is currently redundant..........

Enjoy your car........I certainly am, currently.
Right then......Your turn...
Mock away.....

Whereabouts are you Jagster? Absolutely nowt in the way of white stuff up here in the North Pennines.

Have you got a pic from the rear of the bike? Like to see what the whole thing looks like with the tail lights and license plate hanger.
It might not cover the edges but not much spray from there if any. I kind of like the width, shows the tire still and keeps me clean and dry.

Well.......what can I say....
I thought I was a bit old school with my tastes, but after watching this video I think I might be ancient school......??
Blimey!
I am out of touch. I can see it now.........How could I have been so wrong?

It appears as though the 'coolest' and 'on trend' touring bikes don't in fact use rear fenders to protect the rider or the bike from road spray.....rear fender?.....nah!....we've moved on....the world has changed........no no no......What you use now is.....(drum roll).....your luggage!
Yes! that's the way you do it........Oh and while we are on the subject of touring bikes, you don't want to have a normal exhaust silencer. Not on a touring bike.....are you mad or somefink?.....No no no.......what you will need is a straight through exhaust.

Doh!!! What am I like???
I've been doing everything wrong in my life....like....forever.....

Watch an learn folks.....

Hmmm, a Triumph Bobber.. Obviously the perfect platform for a touring bike. A single seat from a pre-war district nurse's bicycle, three inches of suspension travel and an 80 mile tank range. Yes, that's the place to start right enough.
