Rear Fender

thanks again

The Trik Custom fender will keep you and your bike clean.
I have been waiting to order the Trik Custom rear fender, but their site says they're on holiday. I've filled out their web form about 3 times requesting to be contacted and no response. They've been on holiday for a few months now. Does anyone know what's up with them and when they might be resuming business?

Also, this fine chap did a video about starting the bike when the key fob gives out or you need to use the spare....

It's worth noting, too, that you don't have to hold either type of fob in that location while you press the rocker switch. You have approx. 4-5 seconds after you press it to get the key in position. This matters more to people with short arms, or in the case of the Tiger where there's an exhaust in the way and you have to get behind the bike to get the key under the tail without burning yourself.

This is my home made rear fender. It works very well, so i'm pleased with it.
This mod also reduces the unsprung weight on the rear wheel.
The full length hugger style rear fender by TRIC UK also works well, although it is just fractionally narrower than the tyre, so water & dirt can get past at the edges if the conditions are bad. That said, no solution will stop all spray.

Hi...
I thought we couldn't get any uglier than the original pseudo rear mudguard...I see you've succeeded! Well, I'll stop my mockery there because, given where you live and unlike me, a protective mudguard is useful if you want to ride from time to time. Me, when it rains I take the car or I get soaked but it's at least 30°C on my island so we don't exactly have the same problems...

I don't know, I think Jagster's looks better than the full-length wrap-around rear hugger option.
I don't think the stock rear end looks that good tbh and I've never liked boot-scraper tail light brackets on any bike. It's ok side-on but from behind it has an unfinished appearance with the exposed top of that fat tyre bobbing up and down. The boot scraper half way down reminds me of a bald man with a comb-over. When you're behind a Rocket the rider looks like he's on a space hopper.
It's not hideous but it's not a thing of beauty either. And it's very impractical because of the filth that gets flung all over the rear suspension.
I'd be interested in replicating Jagsters solution for mine.

It doesn't matter one jot whether you like what I have done to my bike.
I did what I wanted and it functions well.
I didn't do it for the looks. I did it first and foremost for functionality.
I share my content only to assist others with ideas. I'm not trying to sell anything. In fact won't be selling anything, period.

Back on the topic at the start of the thread, the question was about improving the function of the rear mudguard. I posted the info that I have available.
I'm assuming that your input to this question is 'take your car - problem solved'.

P.S.
If you'd like to post up a photo of your bike I will only too happy to mock for others on the forum to enjoy a laugh, by return.....it's the very least I can do

It looks nice! Is it an easy install and because it's close fit does it affect tire changes?
