Rear Brake Issue

Rocket 3
So I've searched extensively this forum. I got a 2023 rocket GT and had the mid controls just put on. Thankfully the front brake works well. But I noticed when I push the rear brake after riding for some time it is solid like I'm pushing on a brick (little to no give) and the brakes are not working hardly at all. 2nd push/pump the pedal goes down and brakes work good enough to lock the rear. After riding for 20 seconds more the brakes will need to be pumped again to work. I've read everything from bleeding, fluid boiling temp and a recall. My question will be is how do I tell if my bike has had the recall done if this is the issue. Cause I trust dealers as far as I can throw a brick cause I've already had to take it in to have warranty work done due to the cruise control not working. Bike has 100 miles on it now.

I guess my first tell tale sign would be the rear locking up to squeal in the first place. I read something about an abs module as well on these forums. With ABS the rear tire should not lock up like that. Looks like I'll be putting my old exhaust back on cause I'm not giving them an excuse to refuse warranty. I was putting the vandemon on this weekend. But so much for that. I gotta wait till Tuesday to call the dealer and then wait for a warm enough day to drop it off. Funny thing is when this first happened I thought my foot placement was wrong or something lol.

sounds like the typical brake failure
tell them to fix it.
even if they have done a recall they need to fix it.

Thanks for the reply I talked to them today. I forgot they were open today. For some reason the service advisor as nice as she is, she thinks everything is usually fixed with "clearing a code". I told her I don't think brakes work that way but alright we will see. I just think they have to worst techs there. All young and not one is probably older than 30

it may have a code from not working but clearing codes will not help your problem.
a long time ago i was at the dealers and checked three new bikes pushed rear brake with hand all three went to the stop and no brake only one would pump up so it would barely work.
if it goes to the stop on the first hand push then it is pretty bad
now the dealers are replacing (i think the rear brake cylinder)
there are a few threads about this might do a search.

I believe that's the recall and she said they did the recall so we will see what's going on. I did notice hearing air escaping from the right side under the fuel tank somewhere. But no visible leaks that may be a normal sound but just something I noticed when I pushed down on it while working on that exhaust. Speaking of that exhaust do you mind looking at that thread I started? I believe I got a defective exhaust. It has pictures and I'd like to know your opinion on it

i replied to it earlier.

I'd look to be sure the linkage isn't binding on anything. They routed my mid-control brake line out of the protective cover and could have done what you are describing. But fear not, you are not alone. We have the worst bike on the market for brakes.

To be fair the worst bike as far as brakes go has to be my 2019 Ninja 1k. It has the worst rear brake on the planet lol even with upgraded galfer rotors and racing pads. The rocket when the rear brake works is amazing. I'll look at the linkage as i wasnt even thinking of it but that probably isnt the issue considering how it works with two pumps and having to do it again after riding even in a straight line for 20 secs. But you never know so I'll look. When I was testing that the vehicles keeping a good distance away behind me probably thought I lost my mind lol. I did look at the brake line though and it's in the the protective cover with the rubber grommet spacers in the correct spots so the line isn't laying directly on the motor.
