Rear brake fail

I had an Xdiavel S before my R3GT and yes I had problems with the rear brake, but it was an easy fix. That calliper is mounted under the disc, it needed un bolting and inverting onto the top of the disc for bleeding , undo the bleed and pumping some fluid through would get rid of most of the air. But a final squeeze of the Caliper on the disc before nipping the bleed would do the trick.
Never had any further problems from that point.
Some owners were leaving the back brake loaded overnight and that also seemed to work for some, worth a go.

Interesting. I haven's read much on diavel boards, but have viewed alot of youtube vids with the rear brake as a common complaint.
Would you by a Diavel again?
I test rode one a few years ago on a very slow dealer group demo ride, fixed in urban mode.
I loved it and wanted one
but have been scared off by the endless horror stories.

During the winter is a good time to pull off the brake system and go through it, if its got 3 4 years on it these master cylinders need rebuilding. Calipers cleaned yearly, they will need rebuilding occasionally also, new fluid yearly its cheap and fast to do brake fluid gets hot, and pads if theyre jacked up, rotors last good that way the other stuff is cheap to do, brakes should be #1 were heavy and normal by nature carry a pretty good speed often. Failing brakes aint cool

I’d have another one tomorrow an awesome bike. I only changed to my R3 for better touring ability and a bit more room on the back for the wife haha

D@mn, I want one. My 2008 Rocket is heavy and tiring, the older I get.
Of course the Diavel suspension isn't exactly soft, but it handles miles better, light on its feet.

I have yet to take a road trip with the R3. I mostly ride local back roads for 50 to 100 miles per ride.
I'd keep the Rock and buy the Duc, If I get the scratch to dump on it.

The Xdiavel suspension from the factory is rock solid, I got some vertebrae shattering shocks off mine when I first bought it, back the preload off a few turns and soften the rebound and it’s a much friendlier bike.

Wait, the bike is suppose to stop...I thought these bikes were made to GO! Seriously though, sounds like a potential safety issue. Doubt this is a common problem though. Make sure the right version of brake fluid is being used and check for leaks. A proper bleed helps, but isn’t always the culprit. Some systems just allow a bit more expansion on the brake lines than others and feel different. Going to the floor though is certainly not good an should be checked out. Also make sure the pedal is adjusted for your frame size and foot range of motion.

None of the above folks. I had the same problem on the X. Replaced with regular bleeder and have had no issues since then. The fancy bleeders do no work. Plus you need to bleed the ABS system direct. Imagine same system used on the new rockets.

Only 1500 miles on my R3R and it’s in the dealership now getting a new ABS module. This was the second time it happened so I hope this works.

Brake pedal went to the floor around 1500 miles. Had it bled and it’s just done the same thing at 2800 miles.
Triumph just say take it back and get it bled again, but I don’t think that’s (anywhere near) good enough.

Anyone else with this Issue?

I have a 2014 with antilock brakes. I had the same problem. The rear brake lever went all the way down. Bleeding the rear brake took care of it for 1,000 miles then it happened again after ridding for three hours. I also used high temp material to insulate the master cylinder and lines close to the exhaust. The problem did not go away. I also purchased a more expensive bleeder. I used it numerous times and also did the manual bleed. All seems to work on my last ride of three hours. Further, the manual says air may be in the antilock system so a purge may be required. I've not tried it yet but I heard through our R3 owners experts that the Android TuneECU program will allow you to purge the system without taking the bike to the stealers. I think, I've gotton all the air out of my system. But, time will tell. Good luck! Oh, my wife says I'm full of air. I hope she doesn't try to bleed me....

I have in the past when it was time to change brake fluid I went out and hammered the ABS system I would assume that that would purge the fluid in the module.
