Don't forget it's a long way for most people outside Queensland to travel for a weekend and really means best part of a week off to get there and back and have a decent stay. It's about 1500km each way for me. 1200 from sydney. Even someone from North Qld like Ishmael possibly has 1-2,000km to travel.

I'm planning on leaving here on the Wednesday to get there Friday to make it an "easy" 500km each day. IF I stay until monday and put in 2 big days home I get back Tues night. I could knock a day off getting there and leave sunday morning but that would be pretty tough going and mean either a quiet weekend or not much riding. Still would mean 5 days away.

Many guys have a fair bit to consider - work, family, expense etc - but I'm sure more will find a way to do it as it gets closer.

like Richard I will be leaving on the 12th ariving up there the 14th but won't be leaving till tues or maybe later depending on funds will be visiting relo's on the way home but have taken two weeks off at work for the trip

Spoken to both Paul (Coneye) and Mal(the Kiwi) and Paul is going to be in the States so will not be able to even though he would have liked it, Mal on the other had has to be back at work on the 17 which more or less rules him out but I told him he needs to swap a couple of days with one of his work mates he is in the fire'es and they don't get to pick when they have leave but he is off the week before so I'll keep the pressure on him

Understand it's a bit of a haul and a few days away from work for those outside of SE Qld .. but really .. isn't that why we have large capacity touring motorcycles . To travel on them instead of just commuting to and from f#ckin work next year i'm prepared to travel to wherever RDU is going to be held ...well maybe not Perth.
