I'd go with the K&N under seat filter. You just put it in place of the stock filter. No retune needed, and you can take it out and clean it when needed.

I'm with @Steel. If you are not wanting or needing more HP, go with the underseat K&N, simply because you only have to buy it once and clean it during service.

If you plan to ever do upgrades, go with K&N pods or Ramair now instead of spending money twice

I would go with the ramair just to get rid of the terrible plumbing under the tank, it makes access to plugs and wiring so much easier and is a useful start for making further changes. If the extra noise is not to your liking there is a method to line the bearclaw with dynamat - cheap and easy fix - just search on here

i am still running the stock air filter . now i did modified it under the seat for more air.
i do run mine hard and worry about the noise the ram air would when i was young i would have liked it but for now i am sticking to the stock filter maybe i will replace it some time

I had a K&N with cat delete on my 2007, first with Jardines and then with TORs. I recently bought a Uni filter at the recommendation of a friend who does custom tuning on sports cars and super bikes. He believes the Uni is of better quality. Looks almost the same as a K&N to me though. I also have a Ram Air kit in the box on the work bench and am still undecided as to whether or not to use it after I receive Paul Bryant's crossover pipe.

I say go Ram air. The first time you need to work under the tank you will be grateful.

The K&N replacement filter is a low cost sensible "Do". They breathe easier and are cleanable. In your situation, it makes sense to do this.
Later, when your finances improve, do the Ramair or Pods, the crossover (Cat Delete) and suitable cans.

Thanks but I'm going to wait until I get the crossover installed and see if that and the Uni is satisfactory.
