RAMAIR Filters bespoke Rocket-3 underclaw filter.

?... how did it feel have you taken her for a ride yet

@HansO. I took the bike for a quick 30 minute ride this morning. It was still raining, so was somewhat restrained in giving it too much welly. I did manage a couple of 2nd gear runs at 6000rpm. I ran out of road before I could bump the RPM limiter. It was only a 60 km/h zone I was playing in.

The bike pulled nice and strong throughout the rev range. Nice induction sound from the RamAirs. Exhaust sounds a bit throatier I think.

Despite trying, I couldn't/didn't get any decel popping.

Only thing I did notice was that it was a bit rough coming off the throttle at low speed low rpm. Eg, when pulling up to a stop sign. The transition from partial throttle to zero throttle (and vice-versa) is noticeable. This might just be a familiarity thing so I will take it for a couple more dryland rides and see if it is less noticeable.

I haven't loaded the tune you sent me today yet.

Thanks.

Can someone just clarify please if i put the Ramair on and load a appropriate map do i need some PCV thing as well and or dyno tuning ?

Nev, I agree with you wholeheartedly. My first modification was removing the passenger seat and pegs. My second will be adding air filtration. Eric Carpenter told me the RamAir was too restrictive, so I'm leaning toward the Uni Filters -would prefer the one that fits over the stock (?) stacks (are these rubber with a slight cut out on the outer edge?) The Uni UP-4245 might work if I remove the stacks, but not sure how removing them will affect performance. I am not sure what the part number is for the one that fits over the stack (if it is the 01-1150, designed to wrap a K&N -I've been unable to find it at any retailer.) I would be happy to order from you -but you're half a world away, down under and I figured I should be able to find the part here in the States. If I have not listed the correct part number that would be helpful. Cheers!

Mate don't let distance deter you we AUSSIES buy stuff from the states all the time because either price or just can't get it here if you order from Neville Lush directly you KNOW you will be getting the RIGHT ones

It's not the distance -probably not even the cost, but I want it now and Nev hasn't replied (yet). I'm not ruling it out, besides, I'm already on the same page with him as far as needing filtering,,,
