radiator fan not running

i use the plastic zip ties to hold my relays up. u might want to check the others by popping the cover and a couple drops of glue to put them back on. i have heard of others going bad maybe they just get water in them.we have the sand also but i just leave mine dirty and wash it about once a month.

can someone tell me where the cooling fan relay is located please as I have the same problem with my rocket

its on the left side cover under the seat. there are 3 relays there. the right most one is the fan. swap that one with the fuel pump (the left most one) and see if the bike still starts. if it does, means your relay is fine. if it doesnt, means your relay is cooked.

I found out my cooling fan would not turn while trying out TuneECU for the first time. Right after reading and saving the factory map I went to the testing screen and tried the fan switch first. All I got was some clicking.

Then I came across this thread. Thank goodness!

I took the radiator guards off first and gave the fan a push (engine off). It spun freely. So I swapped the fuel pump relay with the fan, hooked up the laptop and did the fan test again and it started right up!!
Thank you guys for the info!!!

Now to find another relay!! I hope they are easier to find that some other parts!!

BTW anyone know what that middle relay goes to? Left=Fuel Pump, Right=Fan, Middle=??

Problem solved.

I cleaned the old relay with contact cleaner and sandpaper. Plugged it back in and its as good as new with fan running when its supposed to.

I should probably keep a standby relay on hand in case another one decides to bail.

Thanks all for your ideas and help.

@Zeotz: Maybe I should try cleaning it first!! What exactly did you clean? Just the contact blades? or more?
