Awesomeness right there, strait up race cars, what are the years

The blue one was a 96, the yellow a 2001. The Comp Coupe was built around 2004 or 2005 I think. Here's a story about the car. The guy in the story, Paul Mumford was a friend as was Mike McCann. We raced with them numerous times including a couple of World Challenge races, where were outclassed and severely beaten. Great fun though.

I guess it depends on where you live. I have radar detectors in both cars and most often see Ka band. Occasionally Laser but not as often.

I've used both Valentine 1 and Escort on a number of bikes. Both work well if set up properly. A couple of the newer Escorts have the directional arrows like the V1, but don't bother looking at those until you scrub off some speed. You either need connection to ear plugs or less reliable visual enhancement. Mounted on the bars it will be out of your line of site and without an audio alert in your helmet you'll likely never see or hear it.

As noted, common sense will be the biggest tool in your ticket avoidance kit. When out of city traffic, scan far ahead, if you're the only vehicle traveling in your direction you're very vulnerable. Laser and instant on Ka will nail you before you can react, even with the best detector. A well traveled road is safer as speed traps will likely be shooting ahead of you and a good detector will give you plenty of advance notice. Having somebody blow by you at a high rate of speed is the safest invitation for some fun. Give them a bit of distance and they will be the one scooped up.

‘Something very wrong with a system that makes it more likely you get stopped for speeding if you wait until no-one else is around.

You guys should't complain. Detectors are flat-out banned in Oz. The cops even have detector detectors that will nail you if you have an operating detector on board.

Fines are massive.. haven't looked it up, but years ago it was something like $1,500 on the spot... and automatic confiscation of your device.

If you had the device hidden, they could impound your vehicle and tear it apart to find it. You can imagine what condition the vehicle would be in when you got it back.

Saddens me to read of this excessive government control.
We slowly seem to be heading the same direction because peeps do not wish to accept responsibility - for anything.
God bless the American Constitution!

Only if you understand that in some jurisdictions speeding tickets are more a source of revenue than anything else. Speed traps in small towns where speed limits drop quickly are easy pickings.

It’s just a matter of time for me to get a ticket on the bike. I try to exercise good judgement on when to crank it up out of concerns for my life and others too but occasionally I’ll exeed the limit.

My biggest pet peeve is seeing a state trooper buzz by me when I’m doing 65 in a 55, no lights or siren. They are easily above 70 mph. I’m tempted to flag him down and write him a ticket with his own book.:(

I did get stopped for speeding by a county deputy sheriff on my Indian Vintage. He asked me if I knew how fast I was going? I said uuuuuuuhhhhh?;) He said he clocked me at over 100 mph. I said “ sounds about right”.:roll: He told me to slow it down and wished me a nice day. Oh BTW when he asked me if I lived around here I said yes they call me Dr.D.:D

What do you say Mighty Mouse?:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Did you brush your knees off and gargle afterwards? Cops know you as 'The Hammer' so you were lucky.:roll::roll::roll:
