Mid July could be a bit hot.

When I rode Kong 11,500 miles across & back the country in 42 days the last time, I left the 3rd week June and only wore my leather jacket 4 times (never over 90°).
I am indeed biased in trying to get the best weather possible overall and include this RAA-AK ride.

Yes Alaska is a heck of a trip. Early July is typically 100 degree weather south of the Red River. No leather jacket needed.
