LMAO...when I was a young marine Maggie's drawers was the last thing you wanted to see. It was the white flag they waved on the range which meant you totally missed your target! Meant you couldn't shoot for $hit!
:eek::eek::eek:that would be me, i can't shoot worth a chit:(:(:(:roll::roll:

Maine is awesome! If you go late in the season like say mid to late October nobody's on the roads, motels and lobster are both abundant and cheap. I know its a bit far but I had to chime in about Maine.

I also enjoyed Laconia bike week and NH and Vermont are real scenic. And no, I did not ride the beast on those trips...didn't have it then. Was caged but still loved it.

Texas Hill Country I did ride albeit on a Harley rental:rolleyes::whitstling: and that was the best riding I have done to date. Small hills and lots of twistys, Marble lake and Fredricksburg make it just a wonderful place to ride.

I will stop the rant now as I could go on and on about Texas riding and the areas I rode. Sorry for the thread hijack. Back east now....

I live about a hundred miles from the coast in Maine, where there are some very nice old state routes that wind and wend their way through the state, much like rural Connecticut. Where I live there are some good routes, but road conditions vary. We are a poor state, ad logging rigs and winters are hard on pavement built on old roadbeds. The mountains west i.e. Western Maine, NH, and Vermont would provide some excellent opportunities.
Southern New England aka Connecticut/ Rhode Island and Massachusetts have some excellent riding, especially as you get away from the coast/ western CT and MA could be really nice in the Birkshire Mountains.

The only challenge with Maine -- and let's not pick on Maine; we can include Vancouver, San Diego, Key West -- is, could we make it any more difficult for folks to get there ?

That said, I don't think we want to go to Arkansas every year -- but then again, some might. Maggie Valley gets repeat votes.

I certainly enjoyed New England - stationed at Hanscom AFB outside Boston for eight years. Went up Mt. Katahdin twice, and who can forget the topless equality movement starting there ? For motorcycles, we could actually consider riding to the top of Mt Washington. And yes, we would not go hungry there.

Vermont is one of my favorite haunts for riding ,you couldn't ask for a nicer place to ride.
Living in New England I've yet to put Nova Scotia on my bucket list, friends of mine who have done it say it's one of the best rides they ever experienced. I've huffed it cross country four times and have to say the Black Hills area is probably the best ride I've done so far..

Like I said in my previous post, I don't expect to go there for a group ride, just was talking about it. I know its too far for most, hell look where I live (South Florida), you couldn't get any further away. I would have to ride dang near 1600-1700 miles one way, to then go riding!:)

I have preferences over Maggie Valley, but it's pretty central as far as the East coast, New England is great for me, but pretty far for most. Last Raa was way out, I loved it, but apparently too far for most on East coast.

I love riding, but I can ride anywhere, anytime, I'd rather see more of you guys.

That's less than we rode to get to Montrose, Colorado for RAA 9. We are worth the drive :D
I love Maggie Valley and it is within reach of a lot of us but I feel we have been there so many times that I would like to try somewhere else for variety. Anywhere down the east coast as far as Georgia works.
