Raa 9 2014 ?????

How many hours of riding a day do you people think is fair?

8 , 10 or less ?

I be old; so, my preference when traveling is to do 350 to 450 miles (depending on twisty level) with stops and breaks about every tank full. Spread out the ride over 8 to 10 hours of daylight and then enjoy some small town cuisine, soak in the local color, find a good bar and and BS with the locals. An occasional flick in a small town antique theater is a plus as well.

That's a start. It's kind of what I was thinking.

If we are talkin bout a group ride loop I'd try to keep it under 250 miles...with a nice lunch stop and some other scenic or rest breaks.

If we are traveling, then getting into 300-450 is ok...get into an overnight stop early enough for dinner & other local activities.

Then there is trying to get somewhere's in limited time and uninteresting country...then I'd go 800-1000 depending on conditions.

If you be talking like over 5 motors, the route and stops for the day should be scheduled. Anyone wanting to drop out for some unscheduled pix or a quickie can catch up by the next scheduled stop. Cell phones will help here as well so that NO ONE is left behind. Some folks like to take pix like a Japanese. I keep most of mine in my head. Frequent stops are a nuisance IMHO. It's about the ride first, the company second and all else would be a distant third.

I don't care one bit about sturgis. Matter a fact the RAA should be planned so that it dosen't line up with sturgis.

I have been on one day ride at the RAA that was almost 500 miles..... just that one time. Other than that one time the rides have been under 350. You might have to worry about long rides another words.

We would try to map everything out so that no one gets lost. Basted on the past RAA events, the groups would be split up. The first group would be the ride group and the second would be the cruse and photo. Not everyone wants to challenge there skills.
We have had problems with last minute, on the road changes to a ride and people being left behind. That should NEVER happen !!
Everyone likes photos but not everyone wants to be the one taking them. Be fair buddy.

You won't have to do Sturgis if you don't want. It's a secondary ride for those that want to go. The first week is RAA. The second is beyond.

What is the month/week that the RAA is planned so I can start warning my boss man? I guess if I kept up with sturgis I would know that huh? lol
