As this is probably the first and only time a few of these people will ever be out here we will probably do a combination of the two with some lollygagging along the way.

The route you mapped out will be a great ride.I'd suggest overnighting in Grangeville and Baker City. Lots of motels, bars and restaurants in Baker City. The Eldorado is clean and inexpensive, easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. Gas right next door or across the street. You'd be able to keep the miles under 300 each day to allow for sightseeing/picture taking. Not sure how big of group you'll end up with, but meals and even gas stops eat up quite a bit of time with a group. One thing about it though, those who've never been in this part of the country will definitely be impressed.

@WildBill, thanks for the input. You will be joining us? It is always nice to have someone along that knows the area.
Day 2, 307 miles.

Indeed, Bob as I have only covered/ridden that area 2 dozen or more times over the past 13 years.  :p :D :inlove
Seriously though, gratitude for the help, @WildBill!

I am liking all this coordination from the WA staters. This thing should go off without a hitch with this much time to plan.

You guys are awesome

Trying to make a circle here, Bob. Perhaps from your area to Asotin, then Rattlesnake 3 to Joseph, then to Oxbow & the Hell's Canyon? So far July 16 week is leading & the HCR will he done.

Oh Guys you don't realize just how HOT the middle of July is up here. Not a good choice in my book.

There will be days into the 90's most likely. I always thought Aug and early Sept was the worst months for heat and that isn't that bad. Of course I lived in Vegas and SW Oklahoma so I have a different reference for hot than some people. Saudi in the summer is no walk in the park either. ;)
