Whew! 50 hour drive each way... I may just fly in and rent a "not-a-rocket" but I will be there.

When is the best riding weather? And don't say August. I can guarantee every year I cannot get away in August.

BTW - I just did it to San Antonio and parts in between.

This is a fun ride with lots of scenery. Spokane to Lewiston, do the Lewiston Grade and then head off to Pullman vie the Wawawai Snake River Loop.

Edit: Or to save time, 195 to Pullman, do the loop, the Lewiston grade (both ways) and then 195 back to Spokane.

The Wife and I did the Lewiston Grade on our then 1100 Virago many years ago while on our way to Canada. It is not a fast ride but it is REALY fun and VERY scenic. I liked going up better than coming down.

I was thinking about trailering and realized that is 3.5-4 days driving each way. That's a lot of vacation to burn on driving.

Whichever, July or Sept, has the better weather and less chance of rain works for me. Let the majority decide though.

You must be talking round trip. Its only 45 hours oneway from Virginia Beach

Here is a few questions for all.

How many days around E. Washington, Idaho and maybe a touch of Montana? Just day trips in and out of the Spokane area? Max number of hours a day?

I was thinking if there was enough interest we could do a trip to Missoula and then come back through Lolo Hot Springs the next day. That would be an overnighter in Missoula, or even Lolo Hot Springs. Could get a group pic by this sign.

I would probably not join you guys on the we(s)t side but would smoke a brisket or pork butt (or both?) in anticipation of your arrival in Spokane, ya gotta eat.
