Sounds great, not sure if I will make it this year it depends on the dates. I have my daughters High School graduation this year so my bet is May is out for me :)

May is way too early for this ride, weather wise.
I would suggest July.

Suggestion #1:
Day-1: Meet in Sturgis, SD area (Spearfish, Deadwood, Hill City, Keystone) wherever rates are best.
Day-2: Meet & greet R&R.
Day-3, 4: Day rides of all the great roads of the area.
Day-5: Ride to Hulett, WY and the Devil's Tower.
Day-6: Ride to Red Lodge, MT.
Day-7: Ride the Beartooth Pass to Cody, WY. Visit the big ass gun and cowboy museum.
Day-8: Goodby to all - head home.
day #2 day #3or #4 possibly at LEAST 2 days wasted there in my opinion

Regarding a West region ride...
I LOVE that ride around North Lake Meade. Sounds like a lot of high-speed runs! If we're going to do that, let's shoot for April/May and avoid the triple digit temps. If there's time, we should consider throwing in a trip up 395 to Reno after crossing Death Valley. Could stop at Mahogany Smoked Meats in Bishop for lunch, maybe side trips around Mammoth or Yosemite. Or maybe a Tahoe -> Vegas -> Grand Canyon ride.
