R3T TORS - Is it loud or just throaty?

I ordered a set of TORS for my R3T..
I know it's a subjective thing, but I'm wondering just how much louder they are than stock...

I've heard Josey Wales TORS and they sound much better than stock without the volume of Jardines.

If you want loud . . . go with the Jardines or the Predators.

I have heard them, they are louder than stock and have a nice rumble but if you want loud loud then you need to look elsewhere

I think they're loud and harsh personally. The Jardines (old style) are loud, but have a more pleasent growl/roar...again, to me like an offshore powerboat is loud....

Is everybody talking about the R3 Touring here?

I think the TORS for the Standard/Classic models are much louder than those offered for the R3T. Same goes for the D&D's.

The original post was refering to the R3T, which none of the responses apply to. Jardine doesn't have a system for the R3T yet.

As far as I know, D&D makes a pair of slip on mufflers, and Triumph has R3T TORs, that's your options.

True.....but......
If the Tors are loud on one bike I would say it is fair to say they will also be loud on Tourer.

Fair yes, but maybe not so accurate. IMHO, the TORS on the R3T are only marginally louder than stock. Perhaps, given the 3 into 2 design and the fact that its a Touring model, Triumph decided to be more conservative with the R3T. It wouldn't surprise me if the only real difference between the TORS and stock is the removal of the cats.

Punkindave:

I have a R3T with TORS. When first installed, in Feb, they sounded
only a little louder (rumble type sound) at idle next to a stock R3T.

On the highway they sound like the hot rods of the 1960s'. Not loud
but a nice rumble. After 18,000 miles later they have gotten a little
louder in rumble then when new.

I wanted loud after coming off my last bike with straight pipes but after
many touring miles behind me I think the sound fits my mood now.

Wow, thanx for all the responses!!
I asked because I purchased a set and was wondering if they'd be "too loud".. I guess the short answer is that they are more a tone change than being too much louder!!
