R3T TORS - Is it loud or just throaty?

OzDave said:
I have heard them, they are louder than stock and have a nice rumble but if you want loud loud then you need to look elsewhere
I too was refering to the R3T, pity there ain't a separate topic

THey are sharp...good comparison would be the Thrush mufflers of the hotrod days...Regular straight thru Thrush mufflers were loud and sharp. Hush Thrush mufflers we not quite as loud and did not have that sharp brap-brap-brap sound.

Got them delivered today and couldn't wait to get 'em on!!
Wow, they are not too loud and your description is spot on!! Sharp brap, brap.. Can't wait to get the TORs tune loaded and get it out for a real ride!!

Thanx again!

I've never heard a Rocket without TORs, mine came with them. I suppose I could throw the old stock pipes on the bike, but that's too much work.

I think they're loud and harsh personally. The Jardines (old style) are loud, but have a more pleasent growl/roar...again, to me like an offshore powerboat is loud....
x2 just put them on mine and annoying noise to be honest,

Hey guys,I think we are getting off track here. We should mention

what model Rocket we are talking about. There is much difference in

sound between a Rocket and a Rocket tourer.for example.

As was said, there is a huge difference between the 3-3 and the 3-2 on the touring model.. My original question and comments were on the R3T....
I had pipes on my Goldwing and while they sounded great, the droning on the road really sucked.. These pipes don't drone at all and the change in tone is just awesome.

I ordered a set of TORS for my R3T..
I know it's a subjective thing, but I'm wondering just how much louder they are than stock...

I am after a set of pipes for my r3t as well. I have a friend who build mufflers for a living, so we are going to make a set and muck around with baffling etc to get the note I want. Like a lot of us, I don't want ear shatteringly load, just a deep rumble.

The other thing we will do is build them so they look like an original set of pipes.
