R3T Owners....need some help/advice.

update on the heated grips for the r3t they r good to bout 40-45 degrees after that they dont seem to help that much so for this coming winter i will probaly going to heated gloves

Can someone post a pic of the solo rack without luggage on it? And how hard would it be to put it on my 2005 Rocket? Or will it even fit since mine is the original model?

The R3T rack won't work. Its designed around the skinnier rear tire/fender of the Touring model. Your rear fender will be too wide. If they make a solo seat for your model they should make a rear rack as well. I'd suggest checking the accessory catalog. You should be able to find one online.

Hi Molinoman, I have put a few bits and bling to my R3T :) the best add on for me has been the riders backrest !!! much needed when the g/force- torque gets used :D:D:D

Thanks Wayon, those were great pics.

That post was written when I thought I was coming home earlier this year for good. But since Dyncorp made me a pretty good offer (about $3,400 more per month than I was making with KBR) I am here till sometime between January thru May in 2011.

When I come home and the percentage of me getting the R3T is now at about 98% (instead of the original 90% I stated originally) I have decided to get the following as accessories based on comments made by all who helped with this post:

Running lights/fog lights
Front dresser/crash bars
Adjustable pegs
Clearview screen w/vent
Saddlebag chrome rails
Touring seat with backrest
Sissy bar w/pad
Quick release luggage rack
Heated grips
Some kind of horn

Up in the air still is the fender chrome rails (front and back fenders)...still undecided on those.

Probably will add the new Zumo 665 GPS and some sort of sound system w/amp as well.

Along with that since it will be (more than likely) a 2011 model, hopefully my red/black color combo will be back and I'll get the ABS.

Less than a year (sigh...) to go at the most.

Rats this post is going to put me over 1,500...so be it...whatever the next level is.

I look at it as that if I came home now...or before I'm ready, I'd either be unemployed making nothing (no matter what kind of experience I have over here...not much of an equivalent occupation in the US) or at a minimum wage job. I'm not going back into the financial services realm and my choices are slim epecially when I look at $1,300 a month or so in the US or over 10K a month over here. When I get done I can afford to take a little slack time if I need it. I have a heckuva vacation planned for next year when my wife is done teaching school in June and after that (maybe before) I'll have the new bike with no monthly payments.

Gotta stick to the plan.
