So a few more questions in this topic.

If I remove and replace the weird crossover box(possibly a resonator) that sits right after my TORS with a custom piece of exhaust pipe would that:

Change the loudness and tone?

Require an adjustment to the power tripp tune?

What is the purpose of the box since the cat isnt in there.?

What ill effects if any will i have if i remove it?

What positive effects will i have if i remove it

Cheers lads!

First off thankyou for all you do PowerTripp.

I got a weee problem though.

I'd did the tune a few weeks ago (my bike has D&D with the baffles, scorpion? crossover pipe, stock intake, stock header) and from my butt dyno, the power is GREAT!

But, my idle will not drop below 1500 at idle, hot or cold, my TPS voltage is good .62 and .74 (good right?). I am not sure what to do other then throwing a new TPS at it.

I've looked and looked (hence the bike has sat for 2 weeks), I am trying to re-attack it today, for a ride i have on Sunday for Bikers Against Bullies.

One last bit of info, after the reset adaptation, my TPS light never came on in the TuneECU program. I tried a number of times, and i ran closer to overheating then i would have liked. I had a fan blowing too, gotta love NM weather.

Any help is appreciated!

Unfortunately, it appears that powertripp stopped participating on this forum in November 2013. I don't know if it is a coincidence that the Ramair filter testing was also occuring then. What a wonderful contributor he was!

I purchased a "collector box" replacement pope which was fabricated in England. Sound deeper and louder after adding to replacement mufflers from stock which housed the CAT on my R3R. Positives: like the sound and was what I needed to pick up around 12 hp on dyno when both exhaust and box replaced. Negative: I get bad backfiring at 2200 rpm on moderate to hard deceleration and cannot get rid of it no matter how much dyno time spent adjusting. I have the pipes from same fabricator as Shortys but for R3R with ABS.
The box is nothing but a set of chambers resricting flow, sound, and apperently back pressure....which is apparently why I'm getting the popping....

I would like to do the same thing and I am likewise in Fla. Let me know if you find help with this. Thanks.
I am currently overseas working, but if by the time I get back home in August i have not found anyone, i will start testing my grease monkey skills and doing it on my own, i hope someone pops up before then.

I fitted TORS to my 2011 R3T and a K&N Air filter in the OEM air box then had the bike Remapped and Dynoed by a professional ,results improved performance ,sound and runs smooth as silk, not a radical modification but a reliable result .I have retained the Collector Box for curious Rego inspectors "yes I think the Cat is in that box:sneaky:" but it is actually just an empty chamber with little or no restriction .
