I've had a friend of mine load the map to my 09 Touring with standard filter and standard exhausts and it is a different bike. It reacts much smoother to the throttle, accelerates better and left a huge grin in my face :)

The max speed I could manage on a short strip of Autobahn was 188km/h displayed by my GPS and not the speedo, but that's so far only 2 more than I could do with my previous standard mapping. However, I'll have a longer trip next weekend and after that I should be able to give some better and more detailed feedback...but the wrist is itching!

I'm trying to find someone here in Florida to help me as well, but as of yet no luck. Your description of the changes it makes in the bike will encourage me to continue seeking that assistance. Believe me, I wish I was more mechanically adept, but I'm simply concerned I'll turn my R3T into a non-running brick if I screw it up.

I found the map adddd more off the line power 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I haven't noticed a huge difference up past 140km/ph

That being said i haven't really played up past that as I don't want the police seizing my bike

I wonder if there is a way to drop the ECU connection to the side area. So that i don't have to strip the bike down everytime i need to put it back to the stock tune (for warranty / service)

I could probably feed the connection down to the side and use my battery tender lead which is under the side. Cover to keep it charged during the remap.

But i wont. Be able kill the lights. Im also afraid that weather would damage the bike's ecu connection

Well, all you have to do is remove the seat, that's not so bad. Three bolts. Just be careful with the small one in the rear fender, I got sloppy and applied pressure sideways and almost stripped the threads in the fender. Had to run a tap through it of the same dimension as stock and "refurbish" the threads and since then I'm ultra cautious about taking that out and putting it back. But it should be possible to just remove the left side cover and "fish out" the ODB2 connector past the relays, not that I have tried that.

I just reinstalled the stock tune as the bike is going in tomorrow for a little warranty work and the TOR slip on install.

I rode it around the block and well the stock tune is GARBAGE!!

G'day James, Just be careful ,apparently if you install TORS and don't have the TORS or equivalent remap done the bike will run lean and hot, If you look back in the R3t Derestricting posts you will note this , I did the TORS and K@N filter myself and rode the bike very gently to the Dyno guy ,but only about 35Klms ,usually the Triumph Dealers do the TORS tune when installing the pipes, Cheers

My dealer sripped that rear one. Had to tap and rethread, not happy. Should mention it was the Traverse City Harley/Triumph and not my great dealer Triumph Detroit, those guys are awesome.

The Power-tripp tune for the R3T is supposed to be good stock and or slip ons

Hey everyone. Downloaded the "R3T Stock or slip-on" map this weekend. Followed TuneECU instructions to the letter and all went great. Will probably get TORS and K&N filters and do that upgrade then leave it alone. What I really notice is the "smoothness" of the throttle response. It's like buttah! The bike does seem quicker/more responsive but the throttle smoothness really stands out. It feels like it can breathe. I'm considering the cat bypass. I'm no tree-hugger but feel like I'm doing a LITTLE something good mitigating the pollution I'm kicking out the backside. Is that unfounded? I've seen charts comparing cage and MC pollution showing the MCs produce more pollution by a factor of about four. When I was 20 I would have run straight pipes right from the headers (I think I did on my Honda 350). Now I like pulling away from Harleys seeming like I don't even care...fast and quiet. Amyway - Wanted to share experience from the weekend. Easy to upgrade and a great result! Thank you
