R3R and GT owners

I was interested in buying a black 'R' model which is in our dealers.
I wanted to change the bars to the 'GT' bars and was quoted $NZ325 to purchase them...then there's the fitting.
With other changes i wanted to do i figured..'Nah, just order the black GT'.
It took a lot of thinking, mind changing, looking at pics, talking to cobbers..plus you can't expect the new bits until they become available...might be months so....then a decision.
"That's it!" i decided...the black GT..."I'll change the pegs to mid mounted if I'm uncomfortable with them being forward."
Turns out, production of the bikes is under pressure as they have proven to be in big demand...so mine dosn't arrive here in NZ until May/June ...with no promises!
I just had a ride on a [black] GT. Having ridden a T120 for 3 years, the forward controls were awkward and my back was not so happy as with the R. A rider backrest would help. I’m 5’9”. I’d guess an extra 1” up and 2” pullback on the R bars would be ideal for me. The GT bars would be a lot further back.

Guys remember if you are willing to wait a few months for the bike you want, you can special spec order it the way you want it. Just go on to the Triumph web site and play with the program. It even shows the bike as you change the items you want. It also show you the price as you change the specs.

Rocket 3 has arrived in Boise. The dealer already sold 2 of them. I am very tempted. Patience.

Temptation is an understatement.

..The way i understand it to be, correct me if i'm wrong....if you want mid pegs for example on a GT, you order them, pay for them, and they come with the bike...in a box...the dealer changes them over for you and you keep the originals at home. I dont think they will spec it for you in the factory before they ship it.

The reason i say this is i asked this question at the dealers...i was told you have to buy the extras you want and they fit them at the dealers....you get to keep the stuff that comes off...afterall you paid for it.
I would be interested to see which is correct.

I don’t see anything in the configurator that lets you choose different foot controls. Where are you seeing this?

You are.
