R3 Gas Mileage

Hi Folks, I sold my Lowrider and bought a 2007 R3 Classic last Saturday from Bob's BMW in Maryland. It has about 3500 miles. I filled it up for the second time this morning and got 30 mpg on the second tankful. I would be interested to hear what others are getting. And before you say anything, yes, I know, I didn't buy it for the gas mileage
 
I have a R3T so things may be a little different..30-32 normal drive/ride scenario..40-41 on Interstate highway at 70 cruising speeds.
 
when i had my 06 classic i got bout 36-38 running bout 70-90mph
on my r3t get between 35-38 same mph
just went darkside a couple weeks ago and check my mileage last couple days and getting bout 38mpg for 70-85 mph
 
We have been pleasantly surprised with our '08 Standard through the first 2K miles. We have been steadily north of 35mpg (USA); and have had a tank or two (barely) exceed 40mpg. We ride the bike sanely.

We trudge on.
 
I do not know how you guys are getting 40 plus miles per gallon on your R3's. I have had 2 rockets. The first, was a standard and I got 35mpg. The second (and current), is a R3T. I am getting 32 with it. I must admit on the h-way's I am doing indicated 80 to 85 as a norm. That is the case for both Rockets. I suppose if I did 60mph on the H-way, the mileage would improve. It is just so hard to do that!
