Quick Release Sissy Bar for the Roadster

I'm making this official, ponters and nox... this is what owner's forums are (or should be) all about. You Aussies are the model Captains, IMO!!!

F'ing Brilliant work and kudos to all who worked and cooperated to make it happen!

gday fellas,

sorry about the delays, these perfectionist fabricators aren't quick but they are good.

One of the reasons for the delays is due to the fact that we've made a few minor changes which is taking some work to get 110% (with total respect to NOX and his great work). I thought of a mod which enables the sissy bar to be fitted and removed in less than 15 seconds, requiring no tools however once on literally is locked in so cannot be removed without serious welding or bolt cutting.

I am a slack SOB so thought this would work better for me and I assume will work well for all. I have actually designed a second sissy bar and pannier bracket which will enable me to fit, sissy bar and both panniers all in one go also allowing me to fit the whole thing in under 30 seconds....same locking mechanism and incorporating another fellas ingenious idea of being able to wheel the whole thing like a suitcase once removed. I like this for when I am touring I can get to where Im going and in under a minute remove my sissy bar, panniers etc and wheel it into my motel room. then I can cruise around without the garb. when its time to leave clip in, lock on and **** off outta there.

I know I know, Why fix something that isn't broken..... get your arse into gear Ponters....

I am a pain in the arse but I like to do things that will enable me to make little effort and get the ultimate result. Good thing is Im using one of my brothers employee's who is a genius metal worker in his R&D department and given the quality of work he always comes up with you can be as sure as hell it will be brilliant. R&D is costing us nothing as is being donjon my brothers time! When it comes to producing them for us it will be the cost of material and a few bucks to the fella that will have to do it in his own time using my brothers gear. Shouldn't be too expensive but will take little bit longer.

This sounds really good Ponters, I look forward to seeing the results and cost

Hey Nox,
How do you like your rider back rest and that seat? I'm thinking of getting that on my Roadster. Does the seat change your seat height, or the angle of your knees or anything?

If you're shipping to Calgary already for Duke, I'd love to get my paws on a set of these.

The seat and rest are excellent. The classic seat is about half inch lower than the Roadster seat.

Loaded saddlebags and tailbag, sissy bar plus the framework ... you'd just about want a block and tackle to lift it all wouldn't you ???
