My wife was interested, took the MSF class, and I got her an older Vulcan 900 classic. She did ride it around the circle drive and once onto the street. Around this time an early vrod showed up on craigslist not running for a looow price. I went listened the the owners tale of woe regarding the local harley house. Got the price down even more. Took it home, found a broke ground wire in fuel pump/sender module. Wife rode bike declared she liked it better than the Vulcan so new tires, bearings at head, wheels and belt pulley, new pads and rotors, plugs, filters, fresh fuel pump, and even an extra set of tins. She rode again and declared "I just don't feel safe on two wheels"
I went to the MSF can-am course with her before buying that. She really does like it, although recent health challenges (mostly overcome) are keeping her off it.
