Question about suspension. Bottoming.

Nobody in my family was hurt and I lost no guns. That's the good part. I am installing a complete infra-red HD 16 channel camera system with motion detectors. They even got one of my welders and my leather colors - I'll catch some $hit over that - the pukes.

I have lived here 35 years and in the past 24 hours have met a dozen of my neighbors for the first time who have also been hit. They all see my $1000 reward sign out in the yard and have to stop for a chat. From what others say the puke(s) seems to like lawn equipment, so when we get all the cameras in place, I will tie my SPOT GPS locator to the inside of the grass bag, put some cut grass in it and leave my nice Honda mower out in the middle of my next door lot as if it got dark or ran outta gas half way through the job and was left to finish the next day. When the puke(s) go for the bait I'll have it on camera and follow them to an "appropriate" location where me and my German friends, Heckler & Koch shall attempt a recovery.

(evil laughter) .. nothing like a well-planned ambush. Wish I was there to assist mate. Tip... leave at least one light on in the house all night. Had a similar thing happen in a small village I once lived in. Truckload of thieves went house to house lifting anything of value. Ours was the only joint they by-passed , due to light being on.. good luck on the mission

They have to be better than mine with 50,000km on the at the very least but hopefully there's a noticeable difference in set up as well.

Be at least week before I can get to it - going away this w'end- but putting Progressive springs in the front at the same time.

How would you feel if someone told you to set your suspension all the way on soft side and not knowing any better load your bike with luggage and then a passenger?
98% of the time the passenger is a love one.

If it was a car or truck I wouldn't sweat it. However we're talking about motorcycle suspensions in which yes it needs to be taking seriously.

stop being a bloody drama queen mate, ive been riding rockets now for 5 years and have tried and tested all different shocks from stock to comfort to hagons to progressives etc etc etc, i have tried them all on different settings soft and hard and not once has it been dangerous.... you try it and if it aint right you change it, it takes seconds to adjust it.......simples.

I just wanna hear more about how the "ambush" went!!

to be honest i found the stock shocks really bad in all aspects, the hagons (for me) dont look good but they handled ok , i found i needed to adjust them quite a bit while changing from 1up to loaded with pillion, i forked out £550 for a set of HD progressive 440's and when fully loaded i had to have them set up so hard so they didnt bottom out that it was really uncomfortable, when i bought my rocket roadster '61 /2011 plate, it was fitted with the comfort shocks (this you can tell quite easily as it has and extra 2 'rungs' in the spring compared to the stock shocks). i had these set at number 3 and never had to adjust them, they were good loaded or unloaded, most of my riding is done fully loaded with the wife and we try and keep to the twisties including the passes in swiss and austria, we have friends in north yorkshire so we ride the moors quite often, we do around 20k miles per year. my '09 classic i sold 2 years from new with 47k miles on the clock, i sold the roadster with 12k miles on the clock and bought my brothers (as i wanted a new explorer aswell but couldnt afford 2 brand new bikes) 55 plate and have done 15k miles on that so all in all i have covered around 70k miles since 2009 on a rocket. luckily my brother had the triumph comfort shocks on so i am happy, i sold the progressives and the hagons and have found what is good for me. i managed to get the comfort shocks for my brother for just over £100 new and compared to the other makes well for me they work just fine.
