Pulling to Left!

Hi All, This is my first post as I have just taken delivery of a 2006 RIII classic!! I have been riding a Harley Ultra for the last 4 years and clearly there is a huge difference in performance and handling which I am only sorry that it took me so lont to discover.
However, one thing that I have noticed is that the bike tends to pull to the left! Its only slight but I feel as though I am constantly having to push it down on the right side to keep it in a straight line!!!
If I leave go of the handlebars the bike veers to the left (I know some of you will say "well dont leave go of them") whcih if I do on my other bike it keeps dead straight.

Is this a trait of the bike or is there something wrong? And if so what suggestions are there of what might be causing the problem??

Cheers

Yozzer, welcome to the site and congratulations.

As for pulling to the left, I've never taken both hands off of any of my bikes at the same time which definitely includes the Rocket.

Hopefully someone else will have one nearby, take it for a quick spin and try that and let you know.

Got crash bars on it?
If so, that could be the problem.
There's a very fine line where the bolt needs to be to be released and taken out.
If the motor was to low, or high, and the bolt forced in , then tightened up, that could be your problem.
If you don't have crash bars, then your front might be tweeked a little.
Is your bike new or used?
A little more info would help.
And welcome to the site.
Others more knowledgable than myself may have other ideas..

Singapore? Wow. Welcome to the site.

Like Skip said, the pulling left has been often reported with the installation of crash bars. Use the search function above to find the thread on straightening out the bike if you have crash bars installed.

You got that right. Any day I should be on a helo to Kandahar, spend a couple of days, then off to Dubai. Hopefully this flight from Dubai to Atlanta will have a "working" movie entertainment center. Last flight it gave out on takeoff, nothing worse than 15 hours of nothing.

...annnnd hopefully my flight to Pensacola will not be cancelled due to an oncoming (but not quite there yet) snowstorm like last time.

If it pulls to the left, you left front caliper is hanging up. The pucks aren't retracting entirely allowing the pads to contact the disc. If the bike is new/old, it could be condensation in the aluminum alloy caliper has caused corrosion. Have the dealer look at it.

Welcome to the site . Just for grins I rode no handed to see if mine pulled and nope it tracked straight and true, so I'm no help, but enjoy your rocket I'm sure its something simple.

I've not heard of crash bars having a left bent. If anything it should be more conservative:D

Awe! The voice of reason...

Welcome to the site. There is a forum for new introductions. Consider this my welcome.

You may be due a brake pad change anyway: Flipmeisters Specialty has HH (Double) Sintered pads with the max available braking. Take the front wheel off and replace the pads.

Do you have a Darkside mounted?

Rocky,
I've read numerous posts on two of the three sites about this.
Motor was to high or to low and bolt put back in under duress.
Tightened up and bike pulls.
Loosen bolt, take bolt out, lift motor till holes line up EXACTLY,
then install bolt and tighten.
No pull ...
