My dealer told me the same thing when I picked up my roadster (last month). They did end up giving it to me for the $13,999 but when you added in tax, title, freight it ended up over $15k anyways. I'm not sure about Chicago, but down here in VA they have no problem moving the Rockets. If you dont pay them what they want someone else will so there is not much room for negotiation. Gday tomcat im also in brisbane Australia and have a 09 rocket and yes i thing i paid $25,000 new with TORS so they dont know how lucky they r .
id buy 2 for that price

Yep $15,000 for a new Roadster.... $8,000 for a good low klm second handy... But in one way im kinda glad they are'nt that cheap here . Be a shame if Rockets were like Harleys where every man and his dogs had one , don't ya reckon? I like going for a ride and seeing them twin headlights coming towards me and giving the other rider a wave . Or when you pull up at a servo and go over and say g'day to another Rocket rider that you dont know and end up talking bikes for half an hour. Probably wouldnt be like that if they cheap and everywhere. My kiwi mate Garth tells anyone that asks what his Rocket is like ... Good idea, I made a mistake when I got my MINI in 2002 and told everyone who asked how much I enjoyed it. And now just look around ... **** things are everywhere! lol

Totally agree. Interestingly Harleys are pretty much $30,000+ here (except Sporties and the bottom end Dynas), which only proves the point that a fool and his money are soon parted. Ask any accountant who owns a Harley and they'll tell you they were happy to pay extra for the image - someone elses image mind you. They're put off Rockets because they assume you must really "know" bikes and be a highly experienced rider to handle one, which most w'end HD riders are not. Love that
