Appreciate all the replies on my prior thread. Thanks Fred (Fingers) for speaking with me on the phone.

I will check out Daytona Beach as suggested.

Quick question on color and price.

In the attached page there are several R3 for sale. A couple show the MSRP and a couple are already marked down to $12,999.

They are all new 2015 models.

I see references to black, Phantom black and Matte black. Are there 2 or 3 types of black?

Cannot find this information.

Of course I will call dealership about the pricing but curious if any of you folks know why some have already been "marked down" and others not?

As I mentioned they are all 2015 new bikes.

BTW: On another page this dealer lists a "matte Phantom Black" for 15,599

Thanks

I do not think the Roadster is offered in anything but Matte Black (like a primer coat ready for paint) and Phantom Black which is a metal flake black. I think the Jet black was last used in 2006. They did come along and think adding some stripes is like adding color over both paint colors. So who ever wrote Matte Phantom Black either made a mistake or he has one more operating brain cell then a dead cow.

Oh and I know you talked about ABS. But if you can you should take the 08 Classic they have for sale out for a test ride so you can feel the difference between the two foot location styles. I myself love the Classic Floor boards. I see it has a after market bullpucky exhaust can on it . So I bet you can negotiate the price. If you can live without ABS. Also it if you like the floor boards you might be able to find them used or use the touring ones and add them to the Roadster. Either way I would also test drive the Classic.

Roadsters come in your choice of:
Satin Black with white stripes
Glossy Black with red stripes

That's it. It's not actually black though, it has a little bit of metallic in jt, aND it's also not what I consider matte, it does have some sheen to it, think more along the lines of satin semi-gloss.

Kinda reminds me of 'ol Henry Ford...You can have any color you wish as long as its black.
