Now I just need the braided steel lines, and I'll be in business.

You can either contact PreTech in England through the "front door", or if you ask nicely, @Trirocket3 has some sort of club price. The come as pictured, with the EBC pads already installed.

Now I just need to get a line on the braided steel brake lines.

Gotta say those do look good. Especially so as the stock ones are so unsightly. Prettier and more braking power, sounds like a win win. Except for my wallet.

Now I just need to get a line on the braided steel brake lines.

HEL makes a complete set for the Rocket Touring, including rear line. Plus you get your choice of colors. In the states especially, Spiegler is another well-known choice.

Just make sure you measure and order the line from the brake reservoir down to the split specifically. All the Rocket kits I've seen have been for the "normal" model, and those are the wrong length.

HEL told me they are working on a Rocket-specific kit, and would have it "in another month or so" (not holding my breath). They're following other designs by eliminating the transfer block, running a main line down to one caliper, then using a crossover line to the other side.

You heard about it first here.

Here to report, my Pretech brakes are installed.

More interesting perhaps, is that HEL has officially released their kit for the Touring, in any of their colors. The kit is offered as three-line - from the ABS unit to the calipers - or four line, with the extra line (mainly for color matching in my case) running from the master cylinder down the handlebar to the ABS unit. One note about the kit -- they supply the lines and connections, and my moto shop had to supply retainers.

Setup works like a charm, and for me, that just leaves a top box installation lacking to make this grand tourer complete.

Really like these brakes. If I can fight off my desire to trade in for an H2 I'll be picking a set up at some point.

Do they improve the initial bite the brakes have when you first touch the lever?
