2009 R3 RAMAIR Intake Full Jardine Exhaust Cor
Ok, early in the season and already sick of cleaning chrome. Thinking of powercoating some parts but need some guidance and suggestions.

1) non heat parts-gloss black (includes radiator covers/screen)
2) Jardine aftermarket exhaust(full)-had a freiend if I remeber correclty that has his exhausts done in a gloss ceramic coating. I was leaning more toward matte to match motor.

Bike is gloss black (2009 matte motor). Have seen some great looking bikes in the pics section...also seen on some blogs that sand blast prep is so so for durability where dipping to remove charome finish seems to be the way to fly but again....internet bable so anyone who has done this and has some direction and a shop or two that they trust, hit me back.

Chrome parts don't really need to be blasted .. a good scotch-brite scuffing is all that's needed. Had most of the chrome on my bike powder-coated black. Plastic bits I've had painted.

Consider a satin finish rather than matt where you were going to do that; it has more 'life'. Engine is more a satin finish anyway.
I just spray painted my rad screen (and some other bits I've blacked out) from a can - stuff is called Rustoleum (satin black). Gave the screen a touch up last September but it didn't need it. Seems to hold up really well with virtually no chips anywhere and has cost me under $20.

Once you start there's no turning back...
